Welcome to the website of the Department of Vehicle Propulsion Technology and Power Electronics!

The Department of Vehicle Propulsion Technology and Power Electronics was established on 1 August 2025 through the merger of the Department of Vehicle Propulsion Technology and the Department of Power Electronics and Electric Drives.

Covering the full field of internal combustion and electric drive systems, our department provides modern, practice-oriented engineering education and an industry-related research background.

Our activities focus on engine mechanics, tribology, power electronics, electric machines and drives, as well as the development of energy-efficient powertrains. Our modern laboratory infrastructure and industrial partnerships provide our students with the opportunity to become familiar with the key technologies of future mobility, both in theory and in practice.

You can read more about the history of our department on the “History of the Department” page.
